L. M. Joiner

L. M. "Murray" Joiner, age 96, of 170 Murray Joiner Road, Unadilla, died Thursday, February 22, 2007, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville.

Born in Dooly County, he was the son of the late J. V. Joiner and Lillian Noble Joiner. He was the oldest member of Harmony Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of the Mens Sunday School Class. Mr. Joiner was a retired farmer.

Daughter: Joyce Wilkes (Ben) of Unadilla

Brothers: George Joiner (Margaret) of Unadilla
Ray Joiner of Cordele

Daughter-in-law: Dr. Elizabeth Joiner Norman (Buford) of Columbia, SC

Grandchildren: Dana Wilkes of Norcross
Caron Windham of Cordele

Great Grandchildren: Matthew and Joshua Windham of Cordele

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Clemons Joiner; his son, Dr. Lawrence Don Joiner; his daughter, Judith Joiner; his brother, Emmett Joiner and his sisters, Jewell Bowen, Audrey Bowen and Emily Broach.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 24 in Harmony Baptist Church. Rev. Billy Bryant and Rev. Jeff Dykes will officiate and interment will follow in Harmony-Smyrna Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 6 - 7 PM Friday, February 22 at the funeral home.

The family asks that donations be made to Harmony Baptist Church or Harmony-Smyrna Cemetery, Pinehurst-Hawkinsville Highway, Unadilla, GA 31091.
