Kathleen C. (Carter) Wright

Kathleen C. Wright, age 95, of 15676 Highway 27 West, Vienna, died Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Blackshear Villas in Cordele where she spent her final years.

Born in Hawkinsville, she was the daughter of the late Nathan G. Carter and Ivera Smith Carter.

Kathleen spent many years working for the Federal-State Inspection Service inspecting peanuts and later she was manager of Cato's, a clothing store in Cordele, all while being a homemaker and raising three children.

She enjoyed time with family over the years.  She enjoyed fishing and spent many hours fishing off the bridge at the entrance to Georgia Veterans State Park with her family.  Kathleen was especially proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include: Sons: Sammy Wright (Cindy) of Tifton Terry Wright (Margaret) of Brunswick

Son-in-law:  Sonny Ellis of Florence, AL

Grandchildren:  8

Great Grandchildren:  16

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Wright, her daughter, Deborah Ellis. her granddaughter, Melissa Ellis and her longtime companion, Richard Beidler.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday, May 3 in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Blackshear Villas and Crisp Regional Hospice for the loving and compassionate care given to Kathleen during her final days.
