Jurelle (Harvey) Godfrey

Jurelle Wilkes Godfrey, age 86, of Jacksonville, North Carolina and formerly of Vienna, died Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Brook Stone Living Center in Pollocksville, North Carolina.

Born in Pineview, she was the daughter of the late Elijah Elvin Harvey and Bernice Lee Jennings Harvey.  She worked as a seamstress and retired from Work Wear.  She was a member of Byromville Baptist Church.  Her favorite past time was riding all over Dooly County.

Survivors include: Daughter:  Lisa Smith (David) of Jacksonville, NC

Sons: Ronnie Wilkes (Debra) of Vienna Ray Wilkes (Carol) of Cordele

Sister:  Mary Sloan (Judge) of Hawkinsville

Brother:  Robert Harvey (Wilda) of Hawkinsville

Grandchildren:  7

Great Grandchildren:  9

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Julian Dale Wilkes and Rufus S. Godfrey.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Friday, June 14 in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home with interment in Oliver Cemetery.  Rev. Reed Benson will officiate.

The family will greet friends at the cemetery following the service.
