Joyce O. (Owen) Giles

Joyce O. Giles, age 86, of 2310 Sugar Hill Road, Unadilla, died Saturday, July 14, 2018, at her daughter's residence in Vienna after an extended illness.

Born in Browndale, she was the daughter of the late Walter Owen and Lillie Barrett Owen.  Her husband, Billy Giles preceded her in death in 1985.  She was a committed member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla for 50 years.   Along with her late husband, brother-in-law Frank Giles and sister-in-law Susie Giles, she was a partner in Giles and Hodge Farm Center in Unadilla.  She loved reading, gardening and cooking for her family and friends.

Survivors include: Daughter:  Dottie Giles Forehand of Vienna

Sons: Thomas Lee Giles of Vienna Henry Sewell Giles of Unadilla Bill Giles (Stephanie) of Brunswick

Grandchildren: Kevin Forehand (Suzanne) of Tifton Misty Giles of Washington, DC

Great Grandchildren: Joseph Forehand of Tifton Caleb Forehand of Tifton

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 18 in First Baptist Church of Unadilla.  Rev. Bruce Howland and Chaplain John Williams will officiate and interment will be in Walnut Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Tuesday, July 17 at the funeral home.

The family extends to Pruitt Health Hospice a deep appreciation and gratefulness for the excellent care and kindness shown for their mother.
