Johnnie H. (Howard) Peavy

Johnnie H. Peavy, of 560 Roberson Road, Pinehurst, died Friday, December 3, 2021, at the residence of her daughter, Patricia Royal, where she had resided since October.

The daughter of the late W. L. Howard and Beatrice Lupo Howard, she attended Berry College and retired from the Dooly County Sheriff's Department.  Mrs. Peavy was a longtime member of and enjoyed attending Liberty Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher.

She is survived by her beloved dog, Toby; her daughters, Debra Peavy of Pinehurst and Patricia Royal (Greg) of Pinehurst; her grandchildren, Linsey Star Blackburn of Atlanta, Brooke Echols of Navajo, NM and Rachel Thomas of Denver, CO; her step-grandchildren, Tiffany Langley (Matthew) of Nashville, TN, Michael Royal (Sarah) of Commerce and Trey Royal of Winder; her step-great grandchildren, Matison, Maisie, Makenna, Tayte, Toby, Meredith and Theo Langley, all of Nashville, TN.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Peavy; her sister, Wynez Thompson; her step-grandson, Brandon Royal.

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, December 12 at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Don Howell officiating.
