John E. Brannen

John Edward "J. E." Brannen, age 72, of Canton, died Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Tranquility Hospice at Kennesaw Mountain in Marietta.

Born in Unadilla, he was the son of the late John D. "Bud" Brannen and Lucy Ransom Brannen. He served as an Airman 2nd Class in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1962. He married and moved to Atlanta in 1964 where he worked for 30 years in the beverage distribution business. He retired from Atlanta Beverage Company in 1996 after 28 years.

Daughter: Rita Lang (Chris) of Sugar Hill

Son: Scott Brannen of Sugar Hill

Keith Craig (Tessa) of Canton

Former wife: Judith L. Brannen of Sugar Hill

He is also survived by his dog, Toby.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Ransom Brannen, his sister-in-law, Juanita Bembry Brannen, his brother-in-law, Dan Carr and his nephew, Robert Huff.

The family will greet friends 4 - 8 PM Tuesday, October 15 at Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Unadilla and 4 - 10 PM Wednesday, October 16 at Sosebee Funeral Home in Canton.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM Thursday, October 17 in the chapel of Sosebee Funeral Home. The family will greet friends at 11 AM prior to the service.

Interment will be held at 2:30 PM Thursday, October 17 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

Memorial gifts may be made to Wellstar Community Hospice, Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain, 475 Dickson Avenue NW, Marietta, Georgia 30064.
