John Bonner

A beloved member of the Vienna community passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2004. John Bonner, who celebrated his 89th birthday on Monday was a loving husband for over 64 years, a dedicated father and a wonderful grandfather to his 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A longtime member of First Baptist Church of Vienna, he was truly a man of God who shared his faith by the way he lived. He served his Lord in many ways at his church as a Deacon, member of the Brotherhood, Sunday School Director and by teaching the Caleb Sunday School Class for 70 years. He enjoyed gardening and loved nothing more than giving away the fruits of his labor to family and friends. Mr. Bonner also served his community as a member of the Vienna Kiwanis Club.

Mr. Bonner was born in Dooly County on May 10, 1915 to the late Frederick Edwards Bonner and Margaret Barfield Bonner and worked as an accountant for many years.

Wife: Vivian Jones Bonner of Vienna

Daughter: Marti Bloodworth (Stewart) of Perry

Grandchildren: Terri Smith (Glenn)
Kay Grier (Mike)
Stewart Bloodworth, Jr. (Jennifer)
David Bonner
Elizabeth Kea (John)

Great Grandchildren: 6

His son, John Lee Bonner, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, May 14 in First Baptist Church of Vienna. Rev. Jamey Hunt will officiate and burial will follow in Walnut Cemetery in Unadilla.

The family will greet friends from 7 - 8:30 PM Thursday, May 13 at the funeral home.

Those who wish may make donations to First Baptist Church of Vienna, PO Box 351 Vienna, GA 31092 in memory of Mr. Bonner.
