Jo (Singletary) Cape

August 2, 1963 — May 4, 2021

Jo Cape, age 57, of 50 Hudson Road, Vienna, died Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele.

Born in Vienna, she was the daughter of the late Robert James Singletary and Lydia Gilbert Singletary.  Jo was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She enjoyed cooking for her family and gardening.  The greatest love in her life was her grandchildren and she especially enjoyed watching them play baseball and basketball.

Survivors include: Husband:  David Cape of Vienna

Daughter:  Christie Cape Reid (Joe Aldridge) of Ellaville

Sons: Matthew David Cape (Jessica) of Vienna Daniel Thomas Cape of Vienna

Sisters: Clarice Ballard of Cordele Robbie Carter (Jerry) of Cordele Nancy Singletary of St. Simons Island

Brothers: Rodger Singletary (Carol) of Cordele George Singletary of Cordele

Grandchildren:  Joseph Shiflett, Reese Reid, Kaylynn Cape, Bryce Cape, Kenzie Cape and Kalep Hendrix

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Ford Singletary and David Singletary and David's wife, Jan Singletary.

A memorial service for immediate family only will be held at 3 PM Friday, May 7 in Vienna Church of God.  Rev. Scott Bryant and Rev. Danny Allen will officiate.

A public visitation will be held 5 - 7 PM Thursday, May 6 at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted or you may make memorial gifts to the Dooly County Recreation Department, Post Office Box 220, Vienna, Georgia 31092.
