Jim Braxton

September 11, 1943 — October 17, 2012

Jim Braxton, age 69, of 268 Faver Road Vienna, died Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at Flint River Memory Care in Macon.

Born in Greenville, North Carolina, he was the son of the late James T. Braxton, Jr. and Luna Mae Edwards Braxton. Jim graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Wilmington College where he played baseball and basketball. He was a professional baseball player, businessman, and farmer. He served the community of Dooly County as a baseball coach and a member of various community organizations including the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department, Lions Club, and Kiwanis Club, as well as being a supporter of the Vienna United Methodist Food Bank.

Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, October 21 in Vienna City Cemetery.

Friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of Jim's life beginning at 4 PM Sunday, October 21 at the residence, 268 Faver Road, Vienna.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, Radnor Station Building 2, Suite 320, 290 King of Prussia Road, Radnor, PA 19087.

Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Vienna has charge of arrangements.
