James "Buddy" Mitchell

James "Buddy" Mitchell, age 70, of 1106 North Fourth Street, Cordele, died Monday, June 15, 2020, at his residence.

Born in Vienna, he was the son of the late Henry Jackson Mitchell and Florrie Evelyn Laramore Mitchell.  Buddy had worked as a custodian at Lanier Industries in Unadilla.  He was an avid sports fan.  He loved watching the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves.  He was also a very active supporter of Fullington Academy athletics.  In 1985, Buddy was voted Fan of the Year by the Fullington Academy Booster Club.

Survivors include: Sister:  Linda Ordoyne (Ray) of Bridge City, LA

Nieces: Veronica L. Nunn of Crawfordville Dee Dee Brantley of Gena, LA

Nephew:  Dennis R. Lang or Franklinton, LA

Several cousins also survive.

A graveside service for the immediate family only will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, June 16 in Vienna City Cemetery.
