J. T. Sparrow

John Thomas "J. T." Sparrow, age 86, of 1661 Sparrow Road, Unadilla, died Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.

Born in Dooly County, he was the son of the late Martin E. Sparrow and Odessa Clyde Williams Sparrow.  J. T. worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation for over 10 years and then as a farmer for 35 years.  He was a member of Smyrna Independent Methodist Church but attended Harmony Baptist Church.  He loved hunting, fishing and watching the Atlanta Braves but his greatest joy in life was his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include: Wife of 65 years:  JoAnn E. Sparrow of Unadilla Daughter:  Anquinette Earn (Ernie) of Unadilla Son:  Timmy Sparrow (Cindy) of Tifton Grandchildren:  Erin Griffin (Russ), Annie Earn (Chris Todd), Anna Nelson (Matt), Zeke Sparrow (Sunny), Byron Young (Leslie), Brandon Young (Alma), Sarah Mayberry (Jonathan) and Chad Crawford Great Grandchildren:   Elizabeth Griffin, Mary Charles Griffin, Ryland Nelson, Haleigh Nelson, Kaiden Todd, Bryanna Young, Madison Young, Oliver Young, Kaydence Mayberry and Kylee Mayberry Several nieces and nephews also survive. His brother, Martin E. Sparrow, Jr., preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 3 PM Thursday, June 17 in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home with interment following in Harmony-Smyrna Cemetery.
