Irene J. Wood, age 87, of Perry, died Thursday, October 25, 2007, at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele.
Born in Dooly County, she was the daughter of the Charlie Jones and Leola Carrol Jones. She was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Perry and the widow of Monroe Wood. Mrs. Wood worked as a waitress at the Coffee Cup Restaurant for many years where she was known as "Little Willie" and "Booger Bottom."

Son: Donald Monroe Wood of Tippettville
Daughters: Shelby Wood Arnold of Perry
Annette Wood Tucker of Kathleen
Sister-in-law: Essie Jones of Unadilla
Grandchildren: 5
Great Grandchildren: 5
Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 PM Saturday, October 27 in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Unadilla. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Perry.
The family will greet friends from 6 - 8 PM Friday, October 26 at the funeral home.
