Gerry Laine (Scott) Busby

Gerry Laine Busby, age 69, of 720 Hall Road, Unadilla, died Friday, January 27, 2023, at Houston Health Care - Warner Robins.

Born in Perry, she was the daughter of the late John William Scott, Sr. and Mary Paul Scott.  She was a teacher and retired after 29 years of service with the Dooly County Schools. Gerry Laine was a faithful member of Unadilla United Methodist Church and sang in the choir, was a member of the Juanita Brannen Friendship Circle and served on numerous other committees over the years.

Survivors include: Daughters: Kristen Busby of Peachtree City Courtney Busby Stanfield (Drew) of Unadilla

Sister:  Mary Holden Dunaway (Harold) of Hawkinsville

Sister-in-law:  Brenda Bunting Scott of Elko

Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.

Her brother, John William Scott, Jr., preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday, January 30 in Unadilla United Methodist Church with interment in Walnut Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Sunday, January 29 at the funeral home.
