Gerald Dupree, age 70, of Augusta, Georgia, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012.
Born in Unadilla, he was the son of the late Robert L. Dupree and Roberta Tyner Dupree. He moved to Augusta in 1973 and retired with over 34 years of civil service from the United States Signal Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia. Mr. Dupree held numerous positions, to include Training Instructor, Education Specialist, Training Specialist and Supervisory Training Specialist. At the time of his retirement, he was a Supervisory Training Specialist in New Systems Training Department of the Regimental Directorate of Training. Before and after his retirement, Mr. Dupree was a dedicated volunteer for the West Augusta Little League. He enjoyed being outdoors and working in his yard.
Family members include his son, Dereck Christopher Dupree and his wife, Melissa; his daughter, Amanda Nicole Dupree; his brother, Nelson Dupree and his grandchildren, Cailey, Jackson and Maggie Dupree.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Elton Dupree.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, November 18 at Walnut Cemetery in Unadilla. Rev. Gary Boyles will officiate.
