George Ronald Royal

George Ronald Royal, age 84, of 1780 West Road, Lilly, died Monday, March 19, 2007, at the Columbus Medical Center.
Born in Dooly County, he was the son of the late Ashley Quinton Royal and Winnie Mae Dunn Royal. He was a US Army veteran and served in the Philippines and Australia during WWII where he received two purple hearts. He retired from Robins Air Force Base and was the retired owner of Royal Dry Cleaners in Vienna. Mr. Royal was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, the VFW, the American Legion and coached little league baseball for 15 years.

Daughter: Sandra Pockrandt (Bruce) of Vienna
Sons: Ronald Gregory Royal (Patricia) of Pinehurst
Randy George Royal (Kim) of Pinehurst
Grandchildren: 4
Great Grandchildren: 2
His grandson, Brandon Royal, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Thursday, March 22 in Riverview Baptist Church. Rev. Bobby Ward and Dr. J. W. Wallis will officiate and interment will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6 - 8 PM Wednesday, March 21 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 332 North Lauderdale Street, Mailstop 505, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
