Frances Tharpe, age 84, of Henderson, died Friday, September 23, 2005, in a Hawkinsville nursing home.
Born in Dooly County, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Sullivan and Eva Bodrey Sullivan. She was a member of Henderson Baptist Church. For many years, she and her husband, the late Aaron Hamilton Tharpe owned and operated Henderson Grocery.

Daughters: Faye Sparrow (William) of Unadilla
Judy Barfield (Johnnie) of Henderson
Sons: Wayne Tharpe (Myra) of Henderson
Bobby Tharpe (Judy) of Henderson
Grandchildren: Brandi Tharpe, Stacy Sparrow Ayer, Andy Sparrow, Kim Sparrow, Selena Erler and Ron Marshall
Grandchildren: 3
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 25 in Henderson Baptist Church. Rev. Cham White and Rev. Bob Gray will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Saturday, September 24 from 6 - 8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Henderson Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Dozier Blackstock 112 Highway 26 East Elko, GA 31025.
