Florice S. Peavy

Florice S. Peavy, age 88, of 1063 Oak Street, Unadilla, died Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at her residence.

Born in Unadilla, she was the daughter of the late Grafton Leroy Scarborough and Alda Faulk Scarborough. She was a homemaker but had also worked at Citizens Bank in Unadilla, Security Bank in Perry and at Nutts About Kids in Pinehurst. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla and the widow of James W. Peavy.  

Florice was the perfect example of a true southern lady. She was warm and caring, yet tough when she had to be. Her capacity to care for and love everyone in her life knew no bounds.

Great Grandchildren: Presley, Parker, Elliot and Collette

She is also survived by her faithful caregivers, Naydean Hamilton and Brenda Lester and her hospice nurse, Becky Joyce.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Saturday, January 24 in First Baptist Church of Unadilla with Mr. Ricky Hudson and Rev. Mark Grinsted officiating. Interment will follow in Walnut Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 7 - 9 pm Friday, January 23 at the funeral home and may be contacted at the Peavy residence, 1063 Oak Street, Unadilla.
