Evelyn Akin, age 90, of Mulberry Street, Unadilla, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville, Georgia.
Born in Lamar County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Trice and Maude Ophelia Cooper Trice. She was a member of Unadilla United Methodist Church and the Mary Murray Sunday School Class. She was the owner of Evelyn's in Forsyth for many years and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was the widow of James O. Jester and Ellis Akin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, May 2 at Unadilla United Methodist Church. Rev. Ernest Bass will officiate and Smitty Dennard, Bill Scott, Wendell Collins, Greg Speight, Ford Durham and Phil Holman will serve as pallbearers. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 PM at New Providence Baptist Church in Smarr, Georgia.
The family will receive friends from 7 - 8 PM Thursday, May 1 at the funeral home.
