Elizabeth S. (Stokes) Dunaway

Elizabeth S. Dunaway, age 95, of 1461 Owen Store Road, Unadilla, died Saturday, April 17, 2021, at Summerhill Nursing Center in Perry.

Born in Hawkinsville, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Stokes and Effie Elizabeth Hill Stokes.  She attended Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville and was the bookkeeper for Belda Farms.  Elizabeth was active in her community and was a faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church.  She regularly attended Sunday School, sang in the choir, helped with VBS and was a member of the WMU.

Survivors include: Daughters: Diane Lake (Rob) of Glendale, AZ Linda Collins (Leon B.) of Ailey

Grandchildren: Ryan Lake (Melissa) of Chandler, AZ Elizabeth Lake of Phoenix, AZ Walt Collins (Elizabeth) of Vidalia Alex Collins (Katie) of Vidalia

Great Grandchildren:  Connor Wheeler, Caroline Collins, Wesley Collins, Hayden Lake and Ashley Lake

She was preceded in death by her husband, Berner E. Dunaway; her son, Andrew Stokes Dunaway; her siblings, Buford Stokes, Frances Stokes Johnson and Myrtis Stokes.

Graveside services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, April 21 in Harmony-Smyrna Cemetery with Rev. Joe Daniel and Rev. Jeff Dykes officiating.

The family will greet friends beginning one hour prior to the service in Harmony Baptist Church.
