Donnie R. Peavy

Donnie R. Peavy, age 65, of 108 Perimeter Road, Perry, died Friday, February 14, 2025, at Perry Hospital.

Born in Unadilla, he was the son of the late James Franklin Peavy and Ruth Parker Peavy and graduated from Unadilla High School in 1977.   Known by many as "Big Oz," Donnie had a great personality.  He was kind, loved people and never met a stranger.  He did many things during his life.  He was an insurance salesman, served as a volunteer fireman in Unadilla, worked as a bouncer at Teasers in Warner Robins from 1991 until 2004 and retired as a jailer with the Dooly County Justice Center.

He is survived by his nephew, Kristopher Marsh, his wife, Tasha and their children, Karson and Kamryn of Anahuac, Texas.

He is also survived by his girlfriend, Carol Wilbanks of Perry.

In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda P. Fowler and his nephew, Matthew Marsh.

A memorial service will be held at 6 PM Wednesday, February 19 in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends 4 - 6 PM Wednesday, February 19 at the funeral home.
