Donald M. Dupree, Sr.

Donald M. Dupree, Sr., age 83, of 449 Haslam Avenue, Pinehurst, died Friday, April 16, 2021, at his residence.

Born in Pinehurst, he was the son of the late Olin M. "Jack" Dupree and Pauline Smith Dupree Barackey.  Donald served in the National Guard for 11 years and worked at Robins Air Force Base for 31 years.  He had a love for both Mopars and Tow Trucks.  Donald owned and operated Dupree Wrecker Service with his son for 33 years.  He was a member of Pinehurst United Methodist Church and served as Mayor of Pinehurst for 12 years.

Survivors include: Wife of 63 years:  Janelle Jones Dupree of Pinehurst

Son:  Donald M. Dupree, Jr. (Rhonda) of Pinehurst

Sister:  Jacqueline "Peggy Jack" Bennett (Robert) of Tampa, FL

Sister-in-law:  Carol Dupree of Albany

Grandchildren: Nolan Dupree of Pinehurst Natalie Dupree of Pinehurst

Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sara D. Hudson and his brother, Paul W. Dupree.

Graveside services will be at 11 AM Monday, April 19 in Pinehurst City Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 4 - 6 pm Sunday, April 18 at the funeral home.
