Diane J. (James) Simmons

Diane James Simmons, age 70, of 124 Wellington Drive, Perry, died Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Born in Montezuma, she was the daughter of the late Willie Bray James, Jr. and Annie Pearl Mason James.  Diane had worked at Ace Hardware in Perry and the Lamp Factory in Unadilla.  She also attended First Baptist Church in Perry.  Diane loved plants, gardening and cooking.  Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include: Husband:  Timothy Simmons of Perry

Daughter:  Sharon Wheeless (Jeff) of Hamilton

Sons: Bryan Simmons of Perry Eric Simmons of Perry

Sister:  Sheila Akridge of Henderson

Brother:  Monty James of Henderson

Grandchildren:  Kensley Wheeless, Colton Wheeless, Reed Simmons and Emiley Simmons

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, July 26 in First Baptist Church of Unadilla.  Mr. David Simmons will officiate and interment will be in Walnut Cemetery in Unadilla.

The family will greet friends beginning one hour prior to the service at the church.
