Dennis Posey

Dennis Posey, age 65, of 1111 Posey Road, Unadilla, died Friday, December 4, 2020, at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins.

Born in Hawkinsville, he was the son of the late Darrell Posey and Madine Cross Posey.  Dennis was a third-generation Dooly County farmer, starting out as soon as he was able to reach the pedals.  He was blessed to also work with his oldest son, Wesley on the farm daily.  He was proud of his youngest son, Justin, in how he worked with people each day, taking care of them and showing compassion.  Dennis loved his family and was especially excited about being a hands-on Grandpa to his five grandchildren.  He loved his wife, his children, his grandchildren and his four-legged children.  He was able to have an extended son as well in Cal Rogers.

Survivors include: Wife of 46 years:  Amelia G. Posey of Unadilla

Sons: Wesley Posey (Lynn) of Unadilla Justin Posey (Amber) of Cordele

Brothers: David Posey (Denise) of Unadilla Ronnie Posey of Perry

Grandchildren:  Taylor Posey, Will Posey, Molly Posey, Lilly Posey and Ruby Posey

Step-mother: Gaynell Posey of Unadilla

Nieces and nephews:  Brian, Nicole, William, Kayla and Shane

Sister-in-law:  Teresa Golden of Vienna

Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, December 8 in Walnut Cemetery with Rev. Joe Daniel officiating.

A drive-thru visitation will be held 5 - 7 PM Monday, December 7 at the Posey residence, 1111 Posey Road, Unadilla.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please remain in your vehicle.  You will be able to register, receive a memorial folder and speak to the family from your vehicle.

Memorial gifts may be made to Fullington Academy to benefit either athletics or the Learning Center.  Checks should be mailed to PO Drawer B, Pinehurst, Georgia 31070.
