Dan Simmons

Daniel L.  Simmons, age 56, of 1096 West Road, Vienna, died Friday, October 21, 2022.

Dan was born on October 30, 1965 in Ionia, Michigan.  He graduated from South Georgia College in Douglas with an Associate Degree in Agricultural Science and went on to work with Sanders Farm Service.  He was a faithful member of Vienna First Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir.  Dan loved volunteering as a coach for the Dooly County Recreation Department and at Fullington Academy and his daughter's softball teams.  In his spare time, he enjoyed doing yard work, spending time with his family and supporting his favorite team, the Florida State Seminoles.  Dan will be remembered for his infectious smile, dedication to his church and community and love for his family.

Children: Danielle Burke Simmons of Camilla Shelby Caroline Simmons of Mesa, AZ Holly Peak (Robbie) of Vienna Shawn David Sutton of Cordele

Parents:  Carl and Karen Simmons of Ionia, MI

Sisters: Rebecca Cannan (Rick) of Bella Vista, AR Katy Simmons of Ionia, MI

Grandchild:  Grayson Peak of Vienna

Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Friday, October 28 in Vienna First Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Leverett officiating.  Interment will follow in Pinehurst City Cemetery.

The family will greet friends beginning an hour before the service in Providence Hall at Vienna First Baptist Church.
