Clint Shugart

Clint Shugart, age 90, of 845 Oak Street, Unadilla, Sunday, September 1, 2019, at his residence.

Born in Sargent, Georgia, he was the son of the late R. C. Shugart and Inez Turner Shugart, Clint served on the Unadilla City Council for many years and also served a number of terms as mayor.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla and the Charles Speight Sunday School Class.  For 65 years, he drove a school bus for the Dooly County Schools.  He was a Mason and Shriner and enjoyed gardening.  Along with his wife, the late Louise B. Shugart, he operated Farmer's Cotton Gin.

Survivors include: Son:  Don Shugart (Tammy) of Unadilla

Daughter:  Sandra Ferguson (Jimmy) of Unadilla

Sisters: Mildred Smith (Smitty) of Perry Merry Peacock of Lambtown

Brother:  Jack Shugart (Brenda) of Perry

Grandchildren: Nicole Pierce (Crawford) Josh Clack Robert Clack (Ashley) Trey Shugart Taylor Shugart

Great Grandchildren:  4

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeannette Shugart Clack.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM Thursday, September 5 in First Baptist Church of Unadilla.  Rev. Tommy Daniels, Dr. Bobby G. West and Mr. Jack Shugart will officiate.  Interment with Masonic Rites will follow in Walnut Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Wednesday, September 4 at the funeral home and may be contacted at the residence of Don and Tammy Shugart, 784 Duncan Avenue, Unadilla.
