Cliff West, Jr

Cliff West, Jr., age 85, of 1645 Nellieville Road, Lilly, died Sunday, March 18, 2012, at his residence.

Born in Dooly County, he was the son of the late Cliff West and Ora Lilly West and a US Army veteran of World War II. He was a member and Deacon of Lilly Baptist Church, a Mason and had served on the Dooly County School Board and the Dooly County Hospital Board. Mr. West was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers and participated in spring training with them in the early 1940's. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Lilly Store "Liars Club."

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Crosby West.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, March 21 in Lilly Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Tuesday, March 20 at the funeral home.
