Chip Griffin

March 23, 1955 — September 16, 2025

George Lucas "Chip" Griffin, III, age 70, of 255 Pine Avenue, Pinehurst, died Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at his residence.

Born in Pinehurst, he was the son of the late George Lucas Griffin, Jr. and Alice Cheek Griffin.  Chip retired from Hayes Chrysler where he served as parts manager.  He loved music, hang gliding an cars.  His love of cars led him to restore a 1968 Impala SS which he was working on at the time of his death.  He had a great love for scouting.  He served as a scoutmaster for 12 years and was instrumental in helping many scouts become Eagle Scouts.  Chip was a wonderful husband and father and would help anyone in need whether he knew them personally or not.

Survivors include: Wife:  Athielia T. Griffin of Pinehurst

Sons: George L. Griffin, IV of Bethesda, MD Nick Griffin of Atlanta

Daughters: Haley Griffin of Atlanta Victoria Griffin of Atlanta

Grandchildren:  Elliott Griffin and Elodie Griffin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Griffin.

No services will be held at this time.
