Charles E. Bowen

Charles E. Bowen, age 81, of 2304 Findlay Road, Pinehurst, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at his residence.
Born in Dooly County, he was the son of the late Oscar Bowen and Annie Lee Porter Bowen. He was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served on the board of Deacons, the Building and Grounds Committee, taught Sunday School, was Clerk for 25 years and Treasurer for over 20 years. In addition to his duties in the church, he also served on the Dooly County Board of Tax Assessors and was a county election official for many years. Mr. Bowen was a US Army veteran of World War II and a retired farmer.

Great Grandchild: Austin Arnett of Arabi
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Myrtis V. Bowen, Orine B. Windham, Rosa Lee Peavy and Claude W. Bowen.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 19 in Liberty Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 7 - 9 PM Wednesday, July 18 at the funeral home.
