It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we say goodbye to Cecil S. Whitehead, Jr., who died Sunday, November 8, 2015, at Emory University Hospital-Midtown in Atlanta, Jr.
Mr. Whitehead was the much loved son of the late Cecil S. Whitehead and Cleo Burke Whitehead. He was born and raised in Vienna. During World War II, he served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy. After completing his university education, he embarked on a very successful career as an international buyer for Sears where he worked until his retirement. After retiring, he continued to work managing his apartment building in Atlanta.
Cecil will be deeply missed. He touched many lives with his kindness, wit, humor and southern charm. He had a charmed life full of happiness and good health and traveled the world. Cecil also loved to cruise with Holland America.
Graveside services were held at 11 AM Saturday, November 14 in Vienna City Cemetery with Rev. Larry Wilbanks officiating.
A light went out in Georgia...but Heaven acquired a bright star. Cecil will be truly missed-but never forgotten.
Farewell to A FINE SOUTHERN GENTLEMAN.
Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Vienna had charge of arrangements.
