Cathy J. Cox

Catherine J. "Cathy" Cox, age 58, of Phenix City, AL died Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at her residence. Cathy was born January 25, 1962 in Ft. Benning, Georgia to the late Leonard Andrew Cox and Launa Hampton Cox. She graduated from Auburn University and Troy University with her Master’s degree. She was a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and served as the bereavement counselor for Kindred Hospice. Cathy was a gifted, wise counselor who helped many people over years of service to this community. Cathy’s faith in God gave her strength throughout her life but especially in her last year. Her sense of humor was a gift that brought a smile to many. ALS took many things from her but her faith and her sense of humor were strong until the end. She lived her life with joy and wonders and along the way helped others to do the same. She will be remembered as someone who loved with all her heart. Survivors include: Brothers:  David Cox (Becky) of Unadilla Dan Cox (Janice) of Orlando, FL Nephew: Ben Cox (Missy) of Pinehurst Great-nephew:  Forrest Cox of Pinehurst

Nieces: Cate Cox (name sake) of Savannah Alli Cox Bastani (Ramin) of Los Angeles, CA

A graveside memorial service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, July 29 in Roberts Cemetery with Rev. Hall Grimmett officiating.  The service will be live-streamed on the funeral home Facebook page.
