Catherine H. Buff

Catherine H. Buff, age 82, of 631 Third Street, Unadilla, died Friday, March 3, 2006, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville.

Born in Houston County, she was the daughter of the late Seabie W. Hickson and Eulalia Fagan Hickson. She was a longtime member of Unadilla United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Martha Beulah Sunday School Class, taught Sunday School for over 60 years, served on the Board of Trustees and the Nominating Committee, was a member of the Unadilla-Pinehurst-Snow UMW Evening Circle and served as church historian. She was also one of the first women ever elected to serve on the Administrative Board at the church. Mrs. Buff was also very active in her community. She served on the Unadilla Better Hometown Committee and was instrumental in establishing one of Unadilla's city parks. She and her husband, the late Joe Norton Buff, Jr., owned and operated Buff Florist for 35 years. Her son, Joe Norton Buff, III, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 5 in Unadilla United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Perry.
