Carolyn H. Vitale, age 76, of 4480 NE 25th Avenue, Ocala, Florida, died Saturday, April 4, 2015, in Ocala.
She was born in Grovania to the late Melvin and Alice Glenn Hamsley, the 7th of 15 children, and moved to Ocala in 1994 from Miami, FL.
Carolyn was a seamstress. She loved her family and her little dog, Katie. She loved to sing and go to church. In her younger years, she sang with other family members on the radio in Georgia. She played the accordion and keyboard.
She was preceded in death by a stepson, William Vitale, Jr.; a grandson, William P. Dupuis; a sister Nell Shipes, and her brothers Frank, Bob, Herman, and Kenneth Hamsley.
Survivors include her husband of 24 years, William Vitale; her daughters, Debbie Greathouse of Georgia and Pam Clark of North Carolina; her son Wally McCommon of Alabama; 3 step-daughters, Cheryl Vitale of Ocala, FL, Alice Nevidomski of Ocala, FL and Mary Shepard of Ocala, FL; 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 sister; 8 brothers and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 11 at Walnut Cemetery in Unadilla.
The family will greet friends 1 - 3 PM Saturday, April 11 at the funeral home.
