Brooklyn Grace Sangster

Brooklyn Grace Sangster, age 6, of 560 Calhoun Road, Vienna, died Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Children's Health Care of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.

Brooklyn was born in Albany on May 24, 2018.  She was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) at the age of 6 weeks old.  She was an inspiration to all who knew her, never giving up and persevering through all of life's challenges.  Her beautiful smile could light up a room and her sassy personality could melt the hardest of hearts.

She was a first grade student and loved participating in dance classes at Brittany's Dance Academy in Pinehurst.  Her most favorite days were therapy days.  From the age of 4 months old until her passing, she participated in physical, occupational and speech therapy at FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Centers.  Her therapists became her family and were a huge part of her life.  Brooklyn attended Friendship Baptist Church where she enjoyed Sunday School and singing "Jesus songs."

Maternal Grandparents:  Mike and Kathy Peavy of Vienna

Paternal Grandmother:  Betty Sangster of Vienna

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Ellis Sangster.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, January 3 in Friendship Baptist Church with interment in Lane Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 4 - 7 PM Thursday, January 2 at the funeral home.
