Billy Ransom

Billy Ransom, age 89, of 5241 Five Points Road, Unadilla, died Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville.

Billy was born and raised in Dooly County and was the son of the late Willie Van Ransom and Thelma Brannen Ransom.  He worked in road construction for many years.  He loved being outdoors, playing golf and watching his favorite team, the Georgia Bulldogs. Billy was a member of First Baptist Church of Perry.

Survivors include: Wife:  Dale Ransom of Unadilla

Daughters: Tresa Etheridge (Jody) of Pinehurst Brenda Gentry (Phil) of Perry Tina Ransom of Perry Lynn Chadderton (Ray) of Brandon, FL

Sons: Doug Starr (Angie) of Jackson David Starr (Valerie) of Elizabethtown, KY

Sister:  Mary Arflin (G. L.) of Unadilla

Grandchildren:  10

Great Grandchildren:  14

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, February 16 in First Baptist Church of Perry.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone attending should wear a face mask and socially distance.  If you are not feeling well, please remain at home and send the family a message through the funeral home website or a telephone call.

The family requests that memorial gifts be made to the hospice of your choice.
