Robert Lee "Bobby" Newby, III, age 70, of 810 North Third Street, Vienna, died Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Legacy Village in Tifton, Georgia.

Born in Vienna, he was the son of the late Robert L. Newby, Jr. and Marie Porter Newby.  He graduated from Vienna High School in 1965 and Georgia Southwestern State University in 1969 and then worked in the family business, Newby's Department Store for many years and then worked for Drillers Service for 25 years until his retirement.  Bobby was a member of Vienna United Methodist Church, the Vienna Volunteer Fire Department and the Vienna Lions Club.  He enjoyed going on vacation to the beach and the mountains with his family and friends.  He also loved playing golf, attending Georgia Bulldogs games, watching westerns and listening to Big Band music.  Bobby was a fun, loving, and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend to all.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pat Newby of Vienna; his daughters whom he loved so much, Lori Conrad (Steve) of Leesburg, Missy Billings (Jeff) of Woodstock and Ashley Smith (Troy) of Lithia, FL; his sister, Melody Newby Harrison of Moultrie; his grandchildren, Carmen Conrad, Steven Conrad, Maddie Billings, Abby Billings, Will Smith and Ava Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, August 8 in Vienna United Methodist Church.  Rev. Daryl Brown, Rev. Tommy Mason and Mr. Tom Davis will officiate.

The family would like to thank the staff of Legacy Village in Tifton for loving Bobby and taking great care of him.  The family would also like to thank the staff of Bethany Hospice for the love and support given to Bobby and his family.
