Paul W. Brannen, age 68, of 10 Kibbee Street, Hawkinsville, died Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.

Born in Montezuma, he was the son of the late John D. "Bud" Brannen and Lucy Pate Ransom Brannen.  Paul graduated from Unadilla High School in 1968 and then served 4 years in the United States Navy serving on the USS Charles R. Ware.  Following his military service, he worked for United Parcel Service for the next 30 years and then worked at the Dooly Justice Center for 12 years.  He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and served as a Deacon.  Paul had a God-given talent for art.  He began with pen and ink, then oil and later acrylic and shared much of his work with his family and friends.  He also enjoyed wood-working and working in his yard but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren.

Daughter:  Robin Cross (Todd) of Unadilla

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Larry Brannen, J. E. Brannen, and Carolyn Carr.

Funeral services will be at 3 PM Sunday, November 5 in Harmony Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in Harmony-Smyrna Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Saturday, November 4 at the funeral home.

Memorial gifts may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
