I served with "Cooley" on Okinawa and considered him a friend. He left the Island for a short time to attend his Grandfathers funeral and shortly after, I returned to the States. He had "class" and you could tell he was from Texas. Sorry for your loss!

We both were students at Valley View and remember the Cooley boys very well. We still live in Texas and see the Clay Cooley Advertisements on TV daily, not dreaming it was Royce's son and grandsons . Sending our sincere condolences to the family of a man whose life was well lived.

My prayers go out to Royce's family and loved ones that God will bless you with his divine healing comfort to you. I was several grades below Royce in school but I remember him well and we looked up to Royce since he was one of the older students. He helped make our world a better place and will be deeply missed. So sorry to hear of Mr. Cooley's passing. I thought of him often when I would pass the building where he and Mrs. Cooley worked here in Vienna and wondered what had become of the family. I wish I had known how close we lived to each other. He and the whole Cooley family were good customers and friends when I had the Amoco station in Unadilla. He always had a smile and a good word on each visit. I know he will be missed.

Royce and his brother, Harold, were among the "bigger" boys when we went to school together at Valley View School ... they always set excellent examples for the rest of us! Over the subsequent years, we occasionally visited with Royce at various church services ... and we always enjoyed remembering our early days together. Our best wishes to all of his family!
