Marci Thompson, age 42, of 717 East 18th Avenue, Cordele, died Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta.

Marci was born in Lakeland, Florida on April 28, 1975.  She worked as a charge nurse at Summerhill Senior Living Center in Perry.  She truly loved helping people and would always go out of her way to help others in any way she could.  That was true not only in caring for the patients she served but with her family and friends as well.  She also loved to make other people laugh.  Marci was a member of First Baptist Church of Cordele.

Parents:  Monty and Vickie Belcher of Vienna

Niece:  Jerrett Irwin of Cordele

Nephew:  Jantzen Irwin of Cordele

Mother-in-law:  Dianne Thompson of Cordele

Brother-in-law:  Jim Irwin of Cordele

She is also survived by her beloved cat, Ping.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, June 7 in Vienna First Baptist Church.  Rev. Brian Leverett, Rev. Ray Sullivan and Rev. Brian Cason will officiate.  Interment will follow in Vienna City Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 5 - 8 PM Tuesday, June 6 at the funeral home and may be contacted at the Belcher residence, 802 North Third Street, Vienna.

The family is asking that donations in memory of Marci be given to a college trust fund for her daughter, Madilynn Rae Thompson.  Accounts have been opened at Colony Bank, 1031 East 24th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia 31015 and South Georgia Banking Company, 210 South Third Street, Vienna, Georgia 31092.
