John W. Mashburn, age 94, of 545 Third District Road, Unadilla, died Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Leisure Life in Unadilla.

Born in Dooly County, he was the son of the late William David Mashburn and Carrie Lila Peavy Mashburn.  He served as a combat MP in the United States Army during World War II, worked at Robins AFB and was a retired farmer.  Mr. Mashburn was a member of Harmony Baptist Church, a Mason and was preceded in death by his wife, Ilene Mashburn.

​Daughter:  Elaine Peavy (David) of Unadilla

Jamie Free of Atlanta
​Lynn Free of Columbus

Great Grandchildren:
​Tyler Free (Morgan) of Marietta
​Julianna Free of Cordele

Funeral services will be at 11 am Tuesday, May 16 in Harmony Baptist Church with interment in Harmony-Smyrna Cemetery.

The family will greet friends 6 - 8 pm Monday, May 15 at the funeral home.
