Glenn Avera, age 63, of 630 Avera Road, Vienna, died Sunday, July 30, 2017 at the Medical Center-Navicent Health in Macon.

Born in Vienna, he was the son of the late Milton Avera and Myrtis Christmas Avera.  He retired from CSX Railroad as a conductor and was also a farmer.  Glenn was a faithful member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and was currently the chairman of the Administrative Council.  He also enjoyed hunting.  Glenn had a strong love for God, his church, his family and his friends.

Survivors include:
Sister:  Carol Thompson (Tommy) of Pineview

Nieces and Nephews:
Connie Walker (Phil) of Perry
William Thompson of Perry
Candace McRee (Ry) of Smithville
Casey Cox (Ryan) of Americus
Jim Avera of Fitzgerald

Great Nieces and Nephews:  10

He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Avera.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, August 2 in Shiloh United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends 6 - 8 PM Tuesday, August 1 at the funeral home.
